Open Pilltomo → Settings → Reminder setup. If anything is stopping reminders, it's shown there with a button that takes you to the right Android setting. The usual causes are:

• notifications for Pilltomo are switched off, or one of its notification categories is;
• “Alarms & reminders” access is off, so reminders can arrive late;
• the phone's battery saving is holding the app back. Some phone makers are stricter than others — allowing Pilltomo to run in the background helps.

Normal is a regular notification. Important also covers your screen when the phone is locked. Critical rings like an alarm — even in silent mode — until you mark the dose, and can cover the screen while you're using the phone. You choose the level for each medicine.

Yes. Go to Settings → Privacy and choose Hide names. Reminders, alerts and the full-screen reminder will then say “your medicine” and leave out the dose. To see something more helpful than that, give a medicine a nickname: open it in Meds, tap Edit on the Info card, and fill in “Nickname for reminders”. Only the nickname is shown outside the app.

Every one of them is about delivering reminders on time; none gives access to your personal information, and the app has no internet access at all. The privacy policy lists each permission and why.

Pilltomo schedules reminders the same way an alarm clock app does, because that's the most reliable way Android offers to deliver them on time. Android shows the icon whenever such an alarm is set.

Not yet. To keep your health information private, Pilltomo stores everything on your phone only and doesn't use cloud backup, so your data won't transfer automatically to a new phone. Uninstalling the app also deletes its data.

Yes — always. It doesn't use the internet at all, so it works the same on a plane, abroad, or with mobile data off.

No. Pilltomo reminds you of the schedule you enter and records what you took. It isn't a medical device and doesn't give medical advice — please ask your doctor or pharmacist about your medicines.
